Exterior House Painting
Most exteriors include an area where blistering, peeling, chipping or staining are a reoccurring problem. Determining the root causes of paint failure takes a mix of experience and soothing.
Problem Solving is a Catchlight specialty. We promise to address troublesome surface conditions before applying fresh paint.
Pressure washing, scraping, stripping, sanding--it's dirty, hard work crucial to the longevity of the finish coat. In fact, greater than fifty percent of the time spent working on a home’s exterior finish should be devoted to the removal of old paint. Surface prep is an area where painting contractors sometimes cut corners in an effort to hold down cost, yet having a fresh coat of paint applied to a poorly prepared surface is never a winning strategy for the home owner. When an exterior finish holds up and looks great for many seasons, chalk it up to skillful thorough surface preparation.
As critical as surface prep may be, it is often the personalized care and small finishing touches that our clients notice most. For example our crews tidy up thoroughly at the end of each day and never smoke or blast loud music on site. Garbage and debris will be carefully sealed and removed as necessary
Catchlight crews strive to protect landscaping as much as possible given the inescapable need to stage ladders and drape tarps. We encourage customers to point out areas of special concern and to schedule work during a period within the growing season when staging will have the least impact on their garden’s particular greenery.
